This is a QQI Level 5 course on the National Framework of Qualifications and there are 2 assignments:
Learner Record (40%) and Skills demonstration (60%).
Learner Record (40%) and Skills demonstration (60%).
The Learner Record asks the learner to explore and examine some of the learning outcomes for the modules and reflect and refer to personal vocational experience and also to research topics and support information used to complete assignment. This assignment is a written piece of work.
The Skills Demonstration asks the learner to perform some tasks that are integral to the role of an SNA. There are 4 main tasks that are involved in the skills demonstration:
- Toileting
- General Hygiene (hand washing)
- Dressing
- Feeding
By participating in these activities, in a simulated environment, it gives the learner the opportunity to explore and develop their personal skills and to increase their confidence in carrying out these tasks as part of the daily role of an SNA.
