This section has a lot of information for the learner. There is an in-depth look at the various pieces of legislation that affect the role of the SNA. By gaining a greater understanding of relevant legislation it empowers the learner to engage fully within the role of an SNA. This section facilitates the learner to have a full understanding of the SNA role as set out in law and also to advocate for students in their care by ensuring they receive all the resources they need to reach their full potential.

Key terms are explored like IEP- Individual Education Plan and Multi-disciplinary team. The learner can become familiar with terms they will encounter on daily basis when working in the role of an SNA.

Rights and UN conventions are also examined and explored in this section. This helps the learner understand the context and importance of the role of an SNA in the lives of people living with disabilities.

And finally, this section looks at the Aistear and Síolta guidelines and how these guidelines are applied in the context of the role of an SNA.
